Text of presentation of the exhibition « pinxere and mulieres », « also women have painted », Château d’Assas, Le Vigan.
Here, I am mostly interested in the capacity to struggle within a confrontation to frictional events. Transparency or using some colors can contrast with the painting subject - fighting, angerness, collisions- and breed a so-called sweet ambiguity.
« what the paint leaves behind seems to assemble, densify, mass and slowly pack together in order to get ready for the battle. We become aware of the pending clash » (Jean-Luc Cougy, wordpress.com).
Is there a distinction between genres in the act of fighting? In the act of painting ?
